Frequently Asked Questions
How much will I get for my unwanted vehicle?
Get paid between $50 - $2000 for your unwanted vehicle. Condition matters. A complete truck or SUV with the converter still on it is worth more than a stripped, rusty shell that’s been sitting behind the shop for years.
We offer cash for vehicles depending on their condition. You won’t know the number until we hear the year, make, model and whether it still has its parts. Call (250) 884-2537 and get a free quote.
Do you always pay cash?
We often offer cash for cars, up to $2,000. Some cars are only worth the free tow-away and a proper recycle. We’ll tell you straight when you call, and get pay you by other means than cash if you prefer although we find cash is easiest and straight forward. You'll still get a reciept and documents to prove the transaction if that's your concern.
What changes the price I get for my scrap vehicle?
Things that affect how much cash you get for your scrap vehicle include:
- Size and weight of the vehicle
- Whether it’s complete
- Catalytic converter, battery, aluminum wheels and other parts still on it
- How easy it is to get a truck to it
If you already pulled the converter, the wheels and the battery, say so up front. We’ll still come get it. The offer will just match what’s actually there.
When do I get paid for my scrap vehicle?
You get paid in the same visit as when we come to pick the vehicle up. No cheque in the mail next week, just payment right away.
Can I get more if I drop it off myself?
Sometimes, because we save a trip. Most people still want us to come to them, and that’s what we do. We deliver our services to you.
Do I have to pay for the tow?
We provide free tow-away service for Victoria junk car removal. That’s the point. Call us, we come get it, you don’t write us a cheque for the truck. It's all handled for free because even if your vehicle isn't worth any cash we still get a profit from recycling the metal.
Local towing in Greater Victoria is also available at an affordable price by our team if vehicle towing is the service you're looking for, but this is separate from the auto wrecking service. If you need a cheap tow truck now, get in touch and we’ll be there quickly.
How does a scrap vehicle pickup work?
We'll break down how our scrap vehicle pickup service works in 9 simple steps:
- Call (250) 884-2537.
- Tell us the year, make, model, where it’s sitting and whether it runs.
- We give you a free quote.
- We book a time that works.
- We show up with the tow truck.
- You take your plates and anything you want to keep.
- We sort the transfer paperwork.
- You get paid if the vehicle has value.
- We take it away and recycle it properly.
Does the car have to run for you to pick it up?
No, the car doesn't need to run in order to be picked up for scrap. Dead battery, blown motor, no insurance, no wheels, we still take it. Our flatbeds have winches. We can pull a car out of an awkward spot as long as we can get the truck close enough. and even cars that don't run can still have value for rare parts and metal.
What kind of tow truck do you use?
We specialize in flatbed towing, which is also called four-wheel lift towing, as we take all four wheels off the ground. Our flatbed tow trucks also have winches allowing us to winch your car out of difficult situations. As we’re mainly a scrap car removal and auto recycling company, we’re focused on removing junk cars and ensuring they’re properly recycled, but with that said we do provide our flatbed tow trucks for car towing upon request for our customers who love working with us.
How fast can you get here?
We're known for being there in less than 30 minutes, but that's not always possible. Call during our hours and we’ll get you booked. We’re on the road Monday to Sunday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. If the car is blocking a stall or you’ve got a strata manager waiting on you, say so when you call and we'll try our darnest to get there ASAP.
What areas do you service?

That includes Saanich, Esquimalt, Oak Bay, View Royal, Colwood, Langford, Highlands, Metchosin, Central Saanich, North Saanich and the usual in-between spots.
If you’re not sure you’re in range, call us. We’ll tell you.
Do I come to your yard?
No. We come to you. Office visits are by appointment only. Mailing address: #2, 608 Esquimalt Rd Victoria, BC V9A 3L4 Canada.
What do I need to have ready for scrap car removal?
There are some crucial things you need to prove you own the vehicle before we tow it away.
- The vehicle registration (ownership papers)
- Photo ID that matches the name on the registration
- The keys, if you’ve still got them
We ask that you have the vehicle registration available, but it’s not a big deal. We provide vehicle transfer forms. If you can’t find the registration, call us before we roll so we know.
What if there are two names on the registration?
Both owners need to sign. This keeps everyone safe from legal troubles. If you need to wait for someone to come over to sign, let us know when you call so we can schedule in that time slot that works for everyone.
What do I do with the license plates?
Take them off before we leave. In BC the plates stay with you, not the car. Return them to an Autoplan broker or ICBC, or transfer them onto your next vehicle, and cancel or move your insurance.
Don’t leave the plates on the junk car. Don’t give them to us to deal with later. Pull them, keep them, take them to a broker.
Do I need insurance on the car to scrap it?
No, no insurance neccessary for pick up. Plenty of the cars we take haven’t been insured in years. If you still have Autoplan on it, cancel it after we pick the car up, or transfer it if you’re getting another vehicle. Selling the car does not automatically cancel the policy.
How do I stay off the hook after the car is gone?
We ensure the vehicle is off your name before we take it so your'e not responsible for anything but enjoying the cash you got for scrapping it. Although this requires diligence. We'll help you fill out and sign the transfer papers properly. You must keep your seller copy, take your plates and (one final step) tell ICBC the vehicle was sold. The buyer has 10 days to register the transfer. Your copy of the form is your proof of the date. The process is probably a lot smoother than you think if you're worried.
What if there’s a loan or a lien on the vehicle?
Say so when you call. A bank still on title has to be dealt with before we can take the vehicle cleanly. Same if ICBC already took the wreck on a total-loss claim. If they kept the car, it isn’t yours to sell.
Do you take ICBC write-offs?
If you still own the vehicle and have the paper, yes. Write-offs, rust buckets, flood cars, accident cars, cars with missing parts, that’s our bread and butter. However, if ICBC kept the title, call your adjuster, not us. We only pick up vehicles you own, not ones that the bank or ICBC owns, and we verify this before every transaction.
What vehicles do you remove?
We removal junk vehicles of all shapes and sizes in Greater Victoria for free to have them properly recycled and salvaged. Cars, trucks, vans, SUVs and other junk vehicles that are done being useful. Running or not. Insured or not, we'll take them, even motorcycles too.
Can I keep the stereo, winter tires or tools in the trunk?
Yes you can. Pull anything you want before we hook up. We’ll help with plates, stereos and tires if you ask when you book. Whatever you leave in the car goes with the car, so try not to forget anything. Of coruse we'll try to help you recover an item you forgot though if we still can, but we usually see the cars recycled pretty quick after pick up.
Do you take scrap metal without a whole car?
Yes, to a certain extent. If you have scrap metal laying around, we’ll come pick it up for free! We’ll come and remove your unwanted scraps of copper, aluminum, steel and iron, plus other metals, for free. We ensure that all scrap metal is properly recycled, so that it may be used again. There’s no amount of scrap metal too large for us to come with our tow truck and remove for you. In many cases where there’s still value to your scrap metal we may also offer cash for it.

Will you take a car with no wheels?
Yes. No wheels is a common call. We winch it on our flatbed no problem, although no wheels means less metal to recycle which usually means a lower cash payout.
What about a car in a tight parkade or behind a locked gate?
Tell us when you book. We need room for a flatbed and a way in. If it's locked behind a gate and you don’t have fob access, we can’t guess the gate code.
What happens to my car after you take it?
We take the scrap vehicles and recycle the auto parts and scrap metal. Fluids and batteries get handled the right way. You can rest assured you won’t be polluting the island with your junk.
That’s why we do this. A car rotting in a backyard in View Royal or Sooke isn’t just ugly. It leaks.
Do you sell used parts to the public?
We’re here for removal, salvage and recycling. If you need a used fender, that’s a wrecking-yard counter. Our job is getting the unwanted vehicle out of your life and through a proper recycle.
Why shouldn’t I just leave my scrap vehicle, or dump it somewhere?
Leaving it costs you space, invites complaints and eventually makes a mess, including leaking fluids and rust stains. Dumping it is illegal and still your problem. Calling us costs you a phone call. The tow is free. You might even go home with cash.
I need a regular tow, not a scrap pickup. Can you help?
Yes. We provide affordable towing in the greater Victoria region, from 8 am to 5 pm, 7 days a week. Flatbed, four wheels up. We’re not a dedicated heavy-haul or long-distance outfit. We’re the local truck people already know from junk car calls, and we tow for customers who like working with us.
Need a cheap tow truck now? Call (250) 884-2537.
Do you do lockouts, winching out of ditches after a crash or impound lots?
No. Strictly unwanted vehicle removal and towing, we don’t do recovery or impounding!
What should I do before you arrive?
here are 6 steps you should take before we arrive to tow away your vehicle:
- Confirm you’re the registered owner, or that every name on the paper can sign
- Dig out the registration
- Take the plates off
- Empty the glovebox and trunk
- Make sure we can get the truck in to tow it
- Have your ID ready
What if I can’t find the registration?
Call us first. Bring ID. A lot of the time we can still work it out with ICBC. Showing up with nothing and a story makes it harder.
What if the car isn’t in my name?
Then the person on the registration has to be part of the sale. We buy from the name ICBC has on file, and no one else.
What if my vehicle is a lease?
If it's on a lease, then you don’t own it. Talk to the leasing company, because we don't tow vehicle from people who don't own it.
Can I change my mind?
Yes, of course. Our quotes come with no obligation. Before you sign and before the car leaves, you can change your mind. It happens. After you’ve been paid and the transfer is signed, however, it’s our vehicle.
Do you work weekends?
Yes, currently, although this wasn't always the case and may change. Right now we operate Monday to Sunday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. If this changes we'll update our website.
